black mouse all the way

what is it about my housemate that I so hate, is it the complete arrogance of the snob, the tangle of old-age strands atop his ginger noggin or is it the demure authority that gets my fucking blood pressure rising rising almost bursting over the walls in my rage? This house is too small for me, for the both of we, either it moves out or I do.

What a difference the night makes, Im just back in from an hour and 20 mins of night walking (no streetlights, no orange sky-glow, just blackness): along the river to the lock and back on the otherside, Now all the colours are extra vibrant, I am more relaxed, both in body and mind. The first half hour was accompanied by Gilles Peterson's show from last night, on MD. The rest of the march was dark in sound and vision, the battery gave its last juice and slid into forever sleep. A shame in some ways because this week's show is especially excellent - brownswood basement, digging in the crates. But not in others, the silence gave me time to concentrate my thoughts and just absorb the night.

Now I have the munchies, the extrastrong coffee is still buzzing around my blood, crackers and cheese?

Vino!!!

shit shit shit, I've got work tomorrow. It is 10pm and I feel the bed calling me from tomorrow morning. I've done nuff all this weekend, except for watching LA snatch his 7th and final Tour de France . Vino sprinted ahead of the other gallivanting bike racers on the Champs-Elysees for his second stage of this years tour, on its last stage. What were Eurosport playing at?? I had the misfortune of having to watch the last stage on ITV2 :-(( Eurosport were showing the British Grand-Prix (moterbikes). The Tour de France vs. poxy moterbikes?? No brainer. Exceptional coverage of the rest of the tour, mind.

Overall: 1st:Lance Armstrong (DSC); 2nd: Ivan Basso (CSC); 3rd: Jan Ullrich (TMO).

Today I cleaned the whole house, read a lot of my current book: "What Am I Doing Here?" by Bruce Chatwin, flicked through the remainder of yesterday's paper. The Indpendent have been running a Super Sudoku on Saturdays for ages but this is the first time I have had a go at it. Unlike the regular Su Doku, as first featured in the Times last Autumn, with its 9x9 grid with numbers 1-9, the Super version is 16x16 with numbers 0-9 and letters A-F. Booooring, a lot of work for minimal pleasure.

what is it about London?

The day after a "copycat" terrorist attack on London, there is report of a "suspect" being brutally murdered by a police swat team, 5 bullets from close range into an unarmed body. This is from a eye-witness speaking on bbc news24 earlier today. What is going on?

The auzzies are now falling like stones after dominating England for all of today. We were lucky to get to within 35 runs of Australia's first inns total of 190. In the Auzzie 2nd inns a magnificent partnership of 155 between Martyn and Clarke has just been extinguished by Harmison and Hoggard in 2 balls. Currently for 6 wickets they are 314 runs ahead at the close of play. Not looking good.

the alchemist

Result! I have a full-time job! The interview two weeks ago (which I thought went horribly) led to a second interview on Monday which resulted today in an accepted offer for a job! I start next Monday. Ideally this is not the job for me (ever the optimist!) but it gives stability and security while I can continue my persuit of a better more perfect "dream job".
Now I can concentrate on living, get some running shoes, a second hand bike and save up for a car. Or not, I want to go travelling too.
The last weekend I visited the parents, took in the annual cricket match ("my" team won) and I got to see my brother, parents and grandparents. Sunday I went on a bike ride, what fucking joy it is to burn around going as fast as possible and wherever. It sure hurt as I was burning it up the final climb to the house but it was absolutely fucking worth it!
"the descent" was brilliantly dank scary evil and bloody. I liked it :)
Finished "past mortem" in a day, i love books like that. incredibly entertaining but not too much brain power required. Now I am reading "Disgrace" by J.M. Coetzee which is absolutely on the other end of the spectrum, still v entertaining though.

juggling breathes calm!

Yes, you heard it here from me. I did an hours juggling in the sunny garden this evening. I now feel incredibly calm and relaxed. More so than I have done in a very long time.

Being more relaxed means that I don't want to rip my housemate's head off, in fact I couldn't give a damn what he does. You don't have to like everyone you know!
is this the time of the night where eagles come out to bite??

paralysed

sitting at home afront the computer, darting about in a rage of panic. Not able to go and get a job because I am frozen in indecision not wanting to get rejected any more. I really should go to the remaining job agencies in town and register with them. Then I should "sign on", again not really a nice thing to do, but it has to be done. I am running out of money, and there are bills to pay, food to buy and places to see. I am in the middle of filling out an application form to join the RAF, 90% there.

Eating far too many biscuits. But they make me feel better. For a short time at least.

My housemate really pisses me off, the small things (each in themselves nothing) add up and get me very annoyed. Being here all day (inside in the house) does not help. Trying to stay calm, it worked last night, did lots of PHP learning; I am up to 6thpage. All very simple stuff at the moment.

It's the first rest day in the tour, Jens Voight borrows the yellow from LA after coming third to Rasmussen in yesterday's stage 9. Rasmussen journied ahead of everyone else for all but the first 4km (that's 167km of attacking) and finished 6 mins ahead of the peloton, and 3 ahead of Voight.

shit, no, fuck, shit

london hit by terrorists as the g8 kicks off. 37 confirmed fatalities, many injured.
Today I had a health check with the nurse, went into town and got two books ("XML 1.1 Bible" by E.R. Harold; "PHP for the World Wide Web" by L. Ullman) from the library, made my first ever xml page, and my first ever php page==> it can only get better!!!
England whipped the Auzzies in the cricket, by 9 wickets, in the first of three 1-day matches. Vino moved upto 3rd in the tour, a huge pileup at the final corner costing him momentum and a stage win. LA is still in yellow.

LONDON 2012

Yes, one hundred thousand thumbbeats beating down on the frogs! London is the best city in the world as decided by the International Olympic Commitee this lunchtime in Singapore. Not only does this bring excellent sporting entertainment, magnificent stadia and sporting facilities, it also brings womens beach volleyball. All is good!

The evening/night is the best time where I can work. Reasons behind this are:
  • excellent radio
  • everyone else is asleep
  • its dark out and no one walking about on the street outside
  • no traffic on the street
In the evenings and beyond into the night I find myself listening to radioactive and the bbc radio while I am working on this blog, learning PHP and searching the net for porn.

finger her gently

Be patient, be anxious, be turbulantly burning.
There is much more that I want to do, if only I could work out how. I want to incorporate a random image visualiser (see this site; press refresh a few times), and I will change the logo on the top to a PSP version
I registered with the doctors this afternoon. I am not ill, I am still registered with in Manchester and it's now 2 years since I left there. It is one of those things that needed sorting out. Tour de France was next, that bloke Livestrong is in yellow again the bastard. Zabrinski would have, should have remained in jaune but he crashed just outside of the last km, disrupting Team CSC's rhythm and costing them the first position which went to Discovery Channel. DC now dominate the top 10, Basso moves up to 10th, Ullrich down to 14th.

pink rubber tip under missy's lip

I had a job interview this morning. I was absolutely fucking shit, don't think I got the job. Obviously the guy who did the interview had got the questions out of everyone else's rubbish sacks, "describe yourself" "what is your role in a team situation?" ... that kind of fucking bollocks. Makes one want to screem and shout out: "its a basement job, fucker, I'm the fucking guy you want now let me get working. Asshole." Shit, man, how difficult is it to get a job? I'm finding it really fucking hard. I suck at interviews, but if a guy asks shit formulaic questions. Ahhhh.
Free from shitfuckers for the rest of the day I watched the cycling, read the guardian, chatted with the bro and spent hours surfing.
It's amazing how the internet is so adictive. You try living a couple of days without it. The Chinese are treating internet addiction. I'm reading Wild Swans (Jung Chang). I've just finished reading John Simpson's"News from No Man's Land: Reporting the World" which is part-memoir and part history of foreign journalism: full of interesting stories from Afghanistan, very well written and an interesting book to read.

Only 1.12

The Tour de France rocket lances off. David Zabrinski (Team CSC, US TT Champion) wins the first stage (time trial) 2" ahead of Armstrong. Armstrong overtook his minute man, non other than Jan Ullrich. Shithole fucker. Jan took 12th, 68" down; Ivan Basso 20th, 86" down.
Much of the afternoon I spent flicking between the cycling, live8 and the womens singles final. Davenport should have won but what a game! She was injured in the final set and allowed Williams to break back and again, to win in three sets. Ace!
