tennis

i watched the womens tennis final last night. between the #1 & #2 seeds belgians clijsters and henin-harden. muchos entertaining but quality of play extremely patchy as both were very nervy. in 3 sets the midget added an0ther victory against the the fit one and notched another grandslam victory.
--
so today i got up late at noon. Manchester united beat soton 3-2 to go overnight pole position while the gunners play tomorrow.
--
the long walk is such a good book. the fugatives are about to enter the gobi desert in their epic escape from siberian gaol in 2nd world war ussr.

JLS

Dark cold and blue. Crikey. Greg Dyke quits as DG of the BBC. wow. Bloody hutton enquiry cleared the government of any blame... the report laid all the blame of the death of hutton on the shoulders of the BBC. strange.
--
Laurance Dallaglio is Eng rugger captain. announced yesterday. excellent choice. I watched Cameroon vs. Zimbabwe this eve. Two quality goals. Good game.
--
Wrist weights. I am experimenting with wrist weights while juggling. I discovered yesterday that mum had a set of ankle weights which she had used about 7 years ago for aerobics before being told that the current advice was that they were more harm than good. They're 500g each which doesn't sound like much but soon adds onto the fact that the arms are moving really fast, especially with 5-ball. rec.juggling reported that chops were a good wrist weight exercise. FUCK YEAH. My arms after a couple of hundred throws were burning. I did 4-ball (37x4 max) and 5ball (39 max) as well as clubs to use up the rest of the half-hour before taking the weights off and continuing for another half hour without. My arms flew around for the first couple of mins after before I got used to the fact that I was not subjected to an extra gravity on my limbs and found that I was throwing more acurately and tiring less during runs of five. Later in the day I stared playing with clubs and got a start on windmill, precursor to mills mess, over- and under- the net tennis. Yeah.

Six feet under: first of series three on tonight, okay at moments. The first series rocked. I didn't watch much of the second because of 24 and the only edit that I did see sucked ass. Nate died. then he was alive. Is he dead or is he alive? Hes gotten rid of that sexy bint and landed a kid and an anxious wife(?) with riko a partner of the business. clare is going to artschool and seeing this new bloke who she met while delivering a corpse. Quality. What made the first series so cool was her, the dead dad and lots of weird shit. I like weird shit, more please!
New Frasier last nite x2. Frasier had in my eyes died a few years ago, forever shown on late night repeats never quite leaving the conscience. Now its wicked again, very funny and very enjoyable.

i found out how to use javascript to change the template css file that is used by placing a number of "buttons" which bypasses my need to get php going. originally I had seen the site CSS Zen Garden which is fucking cracking. They give the php code, asp code, and a link to a site with javascript to do the same effect. I could not be arsed to do the javascript tutorial cos js is evil. I then found that the excellent juggling tutorials site tWJC uses js to do the whole CSS change thing. So I looked at their source code, isolated the required text and js file and put in onto a page of my own. voila. it works. Now I need to come up with some funky css effects to make things look good. but its a good start!

never ever put email addys on the intenet. i put an email on my initial published site and now I am getting loads of virused emails, I mean LOADS. all with the latest mydoom virus (so my virus checker tells me) in attachments. Noone opens attachments these days, do they?

White out>!?

In response to yesterdays ickle few flakes of white stuff from above there this eve was an almighty thunderstorm with snow and high winds. Excellent, this is more like how it should be.
I did an hours juggling in the lounge listening to LTJ Bookem: excellent juggling music. Ive got this trillogy of CDs: on old stuff, one instramental and the other the full vocal track versions. I put the instramental CD on and it rocked! Totally groovey, excellent bpm for juggling to and chilled out too. Nice!

snow!!!

I love snow, its snowing in little flakes and ickle drafts of wind collecting more together then no more for a moment, getting heavier all the time. the late afternoon sun is shining and there is orange light upon the house nextdoor> The first snow in ages, unless you count the snow upon the top of the mountain in the french alps while we were downhill mountain biking last summer, but that's for another cold day. listening to my bro on the radio. i love the internet. its nice, furry and blue. where are you, snow??? Come back and make me smile oncemore. bloody global warming. bloody britain.

php

The latest thing that I am trying to learn is php. After a fruitless weekend of trying to install it on my computer I am at a loss for what I am to do to get it running on my machine. I installed microsoft *shudder* internet information server so that I could test the php on my comp. IT IS FUCKING SHITE. arghhhhh. So I can learn how to use php without being able to test and respond to the faults in my newbie ways. I am going to put this new project into sleeper mode until my bro installs it on the server or tells me how to do it!

Just back from juggling club. Again I spent most of the time with clubs, clubs rule! Im getting a lot better with them, doing some tricks and some made up gubbins. Ive been told that I am good too which is always a burst to one's ego :). There were loads of people, lots of new childs and some people that haven't been along for a while. There are lots of awesome jugglers at the club which is inspiring, one can see what others are doing and one can learn from their ways.
--
32 5-ball.
--
Manchester United beat Northampton 3-0 in the fourth round of the FA cup. I watched the first half of the spurs city game which was totally city's and listened to the rest on the radio. one-all was the result. the 5th round draw is tomorrow.
--
Ive finished the CV totally, got covering letters figured and I am bursting to get them sent out to prespective employers. Money. I need money.

good day

47 catches 5-ball New Record!
--
I've finished "to kill a mockingbird" and thought it was very good. on a moral level as well as a good page turner I simply could not put this book down, until now.
Further bigup to winamp. Not so evil as even yesterday i thought: now they've put in a net radio search feature, the player actually looks cool, the CD player is quality. much respect to winamp!!!
--
the cons are promising that if they are elected they'll re-classify dope as a classB drug. hahahaha, mutherfuckers. jump on the fucking dope hatingbandwagon a little too late fellows. also the media are slating dope as being very bad for you, which it may be but so are a lot of legal things and these are allowed. freedom of choice, its that simple.

groovey new fx

check this out it's really damn nifty don't you think. what do you get if you cross a chicken and a egg? confused mutherfuckers is what you get... doesn't appear to work in IE, IE sucks. hahaha It's in CSS not java script. CSS rules.
Finished my CV (finally) and sent it off to be vetted and sertified as being the proper me, suitable to get me a job ;)
--
I have gone back to winamp. It looks, sounds and feels really bloody good. I previously had misgivings over using it because it planted itself as the default app for all kinds of shite when I wanted other programs to do those gigs, e.g. WMP for CDs. Ive listened to my bro's new linkup to his uni's radio station, where he is on the prouction teem, which I had to get winamp for because his streem is in .ogg which app is better quality than mp3.
--
33 5-ball. Ineed some clubs! Proper Radical fish clubs. or sumint.

Air+Gisli

Air are currently on XFM. John Kennedy is playing the whole new album with air on the phone, they're at #2 Cherry blossom atm which is very mellow... fuck Im crap at describing music, its damn cool!!! I remembered another quality band earlier this day "Gisli". I heard their latest single (how about that?) on xfm last year sometime, that;s really cool too. ;)
--
37 5-ball.
--
arsenal lose in 1st leg of league cup semis vs boro. howard dean doesn;t win iowa vote. Rudedski loses in Aus Open, Tim through. hummm. almost got my cv completed, I need cash!!!

im monged out, been staring at dreamweaver for too long. ahhhhhhhh!!!! Just got kazaa on the machine, more musica for me to peruse. While on music, listening to the Breezeblock with luke slater in the mix. I d-loaded a cool richie hawtin/derrick may/aphex twin mix which was pretty awesome.

ive millions of blogs in my bookmarks. I put em there because they look really good: design or content, whatever. I just don't often go back and check them out for real. sometime I shall!!

Ear wax

I have Dreamweaver MX!!!! It looks fucking complicated tho.
--
This evening I went to Juggling club. I borrowed a set of clubs: not having a set of decent set of clubs myself is a bit crap - ive some newspaper clubs which I made myself (cheap and instant solution to not having any at all) but they are starting to bend and wear out from my attempts at learning a full double 3-club cascade - so using some proper clubs is great, although they did start to hurt me when they hit the ends of my fingers (ow) really hard. The first hour was spent getting as many spins as possible, aclimatising to the new clubs and other gubbins then the second hour I mixed 5-ball practice with playing around with clubs trying different throws and such.
Its really cold out, started raining on the way back. Trainspotting is on at the moment but the TV is occupied with other eyes watching another prog, Im videoing it!

5-ball 33 catches. 3-club 4 double lefts NR

its back

the custom template is up. i drew a pic on a piece of paper showing what I wanted then setabout doing exactly what I wanted on a blank screen. Sometimes its the best way to knock it all down and begin afresh, this was one of them. I didn't know where some of the crappy CSS of the template was aiming, I deleted it all and put my CSS in.
--
Martin Johnson quits as England rugby captain and ENDS England career. I think that it is always the ideal place to end one's career at its peak: if you go and decide not to, you are always trying in vain to emulate the success that you had when you were in your prime when now it is not possible to do so.
Who's going to be the next England captain? Lawrence Dallaglio would be a great choice although he is quite old. Not that being old is a bad thing because with age comes experience and he already has been Eng capt. before he was sacked (cannot remember why, drugs? affair?). Whoever is the next capt. will have a huge shadow to fill.
--
movies: not been to the movies very much since back from Manchester. There is the local showcase which shows the big movies but I am interested in arthouse movies (such as the ones shown at the Cornerhouse in Manchester. I did see the final Lord of the Rings movie earlier this week. It was brilliant for the most part, the ending was incredibly soppy and happy. Alright, Frodo did his duty, saved the world and survived. That would be a great (good, excellent, great and brilliant are too few words for describing tremendous things - shall look in the thesaurus!) ending. But I need to see more!.
--

gray dark dank + gloomy

Hello a really shite day. I've withdrawn the previous template till further because there was too much wrong with it. It was full of white spaces and they are fucking shite. So, ive moved to a regular template for the moment.
--
league leaders beaten by bottom team. yeah, its baad news. united are in a rut of playing shite football at the moment and were beaten 1-0 away to Wolves. bastards/
--
on a plus note my folks are away with friends in oxford so Ive the whole house to me for the w/e which is quality/

it's middle of the nite and its doomey

42 5-ball NR; 30 double rights 3-club NR.

made CV in internet format (except for the work experience section which I am still working on) using div boxes and CSS and it looks good.

Wednesday, January 14, 2004

31 5-ball; 12 double rights 3-club NR.

fucking crazy/ weather throwing down rain like its made of acid. went last nite to see return of the king with parents. it was goddamn beautiful: the ending was crap: cut to titles when frodo wakes up in gandalf's and friend's company - but otherwise a masterpiece. Gollum, hes so great. nasty evil psychopath devil computer anim dude. Those enormous elephant/mamoth things were inspired! Gotta finish the book now and see how it compares (im about halfway thru it, put a side ftm as I am reading the excellent "to kill a mocking bird").
When I got back about 0000 last night I started watching Walkabout but was too wacked so its waiting on vid.
--
juggling: 33 catches of 5
--
are we or aren't we? lois sahar wants to go to ManU, we want him to, fulham don't. he said in an article this morning that he was all but signed for united waiting on his medical... he's stirring it if yeh ask me. he's a good player and deserves the chance to go to united.

today
yo, goodafternoon! beautiful crystal blue skies this great blustering day. Listening to lastnite's Breezeblock with Jimmy edgar and its fucking storming, whoooooo!
--

yesterday
--
So, last night I was tinkering with my blog settings: making things look personalised and more "me" rather than a dream thought up by corporates for the masses.
--
How I came across blogger.com: I was STFW when I stumled across the excellent mun's place. His site is quality, he said he used w.bloggar to put his rantings onto his blog so I got it and then I STFW again and found blogger.com.
--
Then I came across Belle de jour's site which looked stonking. I decided that I wanted the setup for myself and set about leboriously copying the code and making it "mine" for my template. fixing it took ages!!! I then checked other already made templates (there are 8 or so) and found that the template that I had spent hours copying and finetuning could have been spent doing other things... oh well, I know more about how to change shit and this is good. my setup has lots of cool colours which looks better than the original!
--
s'pose i shud put some juggling in: 32 max 5-ball cascade. Trying new regime with 5-ball practice: get as many throws as possible each and every time. Prev I was doing 10-20 or so catches and ending with a clean finish. A clean finish looks good if you've already mastered something: it shows control, style and thought. Without the control (say, being able to do ~100 catches regularly) a clean finish is useless. More is more and more is better!!!

hurrah - first post
